Receive the Savior

Hi Sweet Friends!

Happy Monday!  I had a chance to play with the brand new Receive the Savior Clear Stamp Set (designed by Krista Hamrick) from Sweet ‘n SassyStamps (SNSS) this weekend :-)

I love the new Receive the Savior Clear Stamp Set with the image of Mary and Joseph holding the baby Jesus as well as a manger scene, stars, banner and sentiments!  Perfect for Christmas and the true “Reason for the Season”!

I decided to create another card with this week’s SC609 Sketch Challenge at Splitcoaststampers (SCS) along with the Simon Wednesday STAMPtember® "Stamp It" Challenge and the Addicted to Stamps and More #210 Inspiration Photo (I was inspired by the blues and purples).

If you have not had a chance to visit the above challenge sites or drop by the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps blog yet, I hope you will find the time to do so- fabulous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Trim a piece of white cardstock and score a few lines (per the sketch), add silver cord and mount onto a piece of light gray cardstock.

Adhere the entire background panel onto the white card base.

Die cut a piece of light gray cardstock along with a piece of white cardstock with stitched dies and mount onto the card front with dimensional foam.

Lightly watercolor the background with a water brush and ink from a blue marker.

Stamp the SNSS Receive the Savior  image using black archival ink onto a piece of white cardstock and color the image with water-based markers (using water as needed to blend - I used Zig® Clean Color Real Brush markers).

FYI- I used a very dark plum purple marker for the baby Jesus (looks almost black) to depict royalty :-)

Fussy-cut the SNSS Receive the Savior image and mount onto the card front with dimensional foam.

Stamp the banner and sentiment with archival ink onto white cardstock, coloring with the water-based markers and add to the card front with dimensional foam as well.

Use a clear glitter pen to apply glitter to the stars in the banner as well as Mary and Joseph’s robes (difficult to see in the photo but it is "sparkly" IRL :-)) to finish off the card.

Thanks for taking the time to visit- hugs and I hope you have a blessed week, my friends!
