CAS Christmas for Two Challenges :-)

Hi Stampers!

I wanted to create another quick, easy Christmas card and decided to use the Catered Crop Recipe Swap End Zone Inspiration Challenge along with the Sweet ‘n Sassy Special DT Christmas Blog Hop Challenge (plus this is another design for the CCC14 Splitcoaststampers Christmas Card Challenge) .

If you have not already visited the above sites, I hope you will take the time to stop by- so many examples of projects and so much inspiration!

To create this card:

Ink the Birch background and deer stamp from Tender Thoughts from Sweet ‘n Sassy (SNS) using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Use the Big Shot™ with the SNS Birch Forest Die set to cut out both images.

Ink the birds from Tender Thoughts using Real Red Classic Ink and stamp onto Whisper White cardstock (I decided to cut these out by hand but you could use the coordinating dies).

Stamp the sentiment from Endless Wishes using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Trim the panel and emboss with the Big Shot™ and the Northern Flurry Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder.  Trim again and mount onto a piece of Real Red cardstock, trim and mount onto the Basic Black card base.

Add part of the birch background along with the birds and deer using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Add the Black Gingham Ribbon bow to finish off the card.

Clean and Layered- Sending Peaceful Thoughts

Hi Again Stampers!

As I created this weekend, I wanted to participate in The CardConcept #21 Sunflower Challenge (I would describe this card style as Clean and Layered :-)) and used a slight modification of the Freshly Made Sketches  FMS159 Challenge (love this sketch!).

Again, if you have not stopped by either site yet, I hope you will have time to check out the challenge sites- great Design Team samples and so much inspiration!!

To create this Clean and Layered (CAL) card:

Open a blank document in My Digital Studio (MDS), position the Sunflower image (re-sizing) and insert the script (3 separate images) from Strength and Hope behind the sunflower.   Adjust the opacity to 70% for the script and move it to the “back” of the sunflower image.

Insert the sentiment from Peaceful Thoughts in another area on the page (so you can punch it out separately from the sunflower image) and print the arranged images onto Whisper White cardstock.

Color the sunflower using the Light and Medium Daffofil Delight and Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blendabilities™ markers.   Add a few shadows with the Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write marker, trim the panel and mount onto Basic Black cardstock.

Punch the sentiment out with the XL Oval Punch and layer onto two ovals also punched out of Basic Black cardstock using the XL Oval Punch.

Create a 5 ½” square card base from Whisper White cardstock and mount a 5 ½” square panel of Basic Black cardstock onto the card front.

Create a 5 ¼” x 5 ¼” square background panel using a piece of Back to Black Designer Series Paper (DSP) and Whisper White cardstock with a strip of Basic Black cardstock along the exposed edge of the DSP.

Mount the sunflower panel onto the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Add the layered sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals® and adhere a few Pearls to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Sunflower, Strength and Hope,  Peaceful Thoughts(all from MDS)

Ink: Printer Ink- Black, Stampin’ Blendabilities™- Light and Medium Daffodil Delight, Light Crumb Cake

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Back to Black DSP

Accessories: XL Oval Punch, Pearls

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope you have a fantastic weekend!!

CAS Home Sweet Home (with a cat :-))

Hi Stampers!

I wanted to create a Clean and Simple (CAS) card using the CASology Week 118 Home Challenge along with the FMS159 Sketch Challenge.

I hope you will have time to check out the challenge sites- so much inspiration!!

To create this card:

Open a blank document in My Digital Studio (MDS), position the two house images from Holiday Home along with the cat image from Patterned Pets (reducing in size and darkened with the Basic Black Stampin’ Write marker once printed).   Since I love cats, I just had to add one :-)

Insert and re-size the sentiment from Home Sweet Home and print the arranged images out onto Whisper White cardstock.

Trim the panel and mount onto Basic Black cardstock.  Add the small heart (punched with the Owl Builder Punch from Real Red cardstock).

Mount the panel onto Whisper White cardstock using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Trim the Whisper White background and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock, trim again and mount onto the Whisper White card base.

Add the red organdy ribbon bow with the Basic Black button (Neutrals collection) to finish off the card.

Quick and easy!

Stamp Sets:  Holiday Home, Home Sweet Home, Patterned Pets (all from MDS)

Ink: Printer Ink- Black, Stampin’ Write Basic Black Marker

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Real Red

Accessories: Owl Builder Punch, Basic Black button, Red Organza Ribbon

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope you have a wonderful weekend!!

CAS Christmas Wishes in Silver and Gold :-)

Hi Stampers!

Here is one more card that I created using the Ornamental Pine stamp set- again, I hope you are not growing tired of seeing this set yet…it has been on my desk for almost a week now and I am still having fun with it!

I decided to use Vellum for the AW27 Around the World Product Challenge as well as play along with The Paper Players PP218 Clean and Simple (CAS) Silver or GoldChallenge (had to use both- I could not resist:-)), and of course, another card for the CCC14 Splitcoaststampers Christmas Card Challenge (which is really a challenge you set for yourself to keep creating Christmas cards all year long).

Again, if you have not had a chance to check out the above sites yet, I would encourage you to do so- great inspiration from all!

To create this CAS card:

Using the Embossing Buddy®, de-static a two pieces of Vellum.

Ink the large pine leaf stamp using Versamark™ ink and stamp onto one of the prepared  pieces of Vellum.  Apply Stampin’ Emboss® Silver Embossing Powder and heat with the Heat Tool.

Ink the pine cone image using Versamark™ ink and stamp onto the other piece of Vellum (repeat for three images).   Also ink and stamp the sentiment onto this piece of Vellum as well (stamping in an area where you can trim the sentiment without interfering with the pine cones).

Apply Stampin’ Emboss® Gold Embossing Powder to the pine cones and sentiment and heat with the Heat Tool.

Carefully “fussy cut” each pine cone around the embossed image- mount onto the embossed pine images using Stampin’ Dimensionals® (placing the Dimensionals® behind the embossing so you cannot see them).

Trim the Vellum panel and adhere to a piece of Whisper White cardstock (I used Tombow™ Multi Liquid Glue and applied the glue to the back along the pine needles).

Add the sentiment layer (again, I used a thin line of Tombow™ and I cannot see the adhesive at all).

Add the panel to the Whisper White card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals® to finish off the card- "Easy, Peasy" as one of my fellow demonstrators likes to say :-)  but I truly had to restrain myself from adding Pearls- lol!!

Stamp Sets: Ornamental Pine

Ink: Versamark™

Paper/Cardstock:  Whisper White, Vellum

Accessories:  Embossing Buddy®, Stampin’ Emboss® Gold and Silver Embossing Powder, Heat Tool

Thanks again for visiting- have a fabulous Thursday!!

SUO108 Bag in A Box for A Birthday Treat :-)

Hi Stampers!

This card was created for the new SUO108 “The Treats The Thing”Challenge (create a treat holder) and I decided to create a gift bag versus a small treat container and used the Splitcoaststampers Box in a Bag tutorial found here

The only thing I changed was the paper used for the bag itself- instead of Designer Series Paper (DSP) I used Very Vanilla cardstock and I also used a current punch (versus the retired Tab Punch) :-)

I hope that you will visit us at SUO-Challenges to check out the rest of the Design Team projects and join in on in on the fun with your Stampin’ Up! Only creations!

To create this project:
Using the Simply Scored™ Tool,  score your 4 ½” x 4 ½” cardstock (you cannot see it but I used Always Artichoke)  at 1” on all four sides and assemble the box per the tutorial.
Ink the branch stamp from An Open Heart using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink and stamp repeatedly onto the 5 ½” x 11” piece of Very Vanilla cardstock.  Color the images using Stampin’ Blendabilities™- Old Olive and Wisteria Wonder Collections.
Add distressing with Gorgeous Grunge and Baked Brown Sugar Classic Ink and sponge Baked Brown Sugar Classic Ink over the Very Vanilla to “age” the paper.
Use Sticky Strip along the bottom of the prepared box (from the step above) and add the stamped cardstock panel to create the “bag”.
Add the strip over the bottom of the panel along with the Decorative Label Punch pieces at the top (for the tabs).  Punch a hole into the “tabs” to insert the ½” Early Espresso Seam Binding Ribbon bow.
Add the rolled Wisteria Wonder flowers along with the Early Espresso leaves from the Bird Builder Punch (create the rolled flower using the 1 ¼” Scallop Circle Punch, cutting a spiral toward the center starting at the outside edge and rolling up- see the basic Splitcoaststampers tutorial here).
Ink the sentiment from Blooming with Kindness using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink and stamp onto Very Vanilla cardstock.  Create the banner using the Hexagon Punch and add the distressing with the Baked Brown Sugar Classic Ink with the same steps taken on the bag portion.
Add the fussy-cut bird image along with a few Pe
Another View of the front :-)
arls to finish off the bag (I had this image in my stash already colored with Stampin’ Write Markers- Basic Black, Cajun Craze, Sahara Sand, So Saffron and “fussy-cut” and ready to go).
Stamp Sets: An Open Heart, Blooming with Kindness, Gorgeous Grunge
Ink: Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink, Baked Brown Sugar, Early Espresso;  Stampin’ Blendabilities™- Light and Medium Old Olive and Wisteria Wonder; Stampin’ Write Markers- Basic Black, Cajun Craze, Sahara Sand, So Saffron; White Gel Pen
Paper/Cardstock:  Very Vanilla, Always Artichoke, Early Espresso, Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White
Accessories:  Simply Scored™ Tool, Sponge Daubers, Punches- Decorative Label, Scallop Edge Border, 1 ¼” Scallop Circle, Bird Builder, Hexagon Punch; ½” Early Espresso Seam Binding Ribbon, Pearls

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by – you are such an encouragement to me!  I hope you have a chance to join in on our “TheTreats The Thing” Challenge- have a wonderful week!!

I still had the Ornamental Pine set on my desk (and decided to create one more card using the Pals PaperArts PPA224 Sketch along with the Festive Friday FFC42 Inspiration Photo and another October design for the CCC14 Christmas Card Challenge at Splitcoaststampers.  Hopefully you  are not tired of this set yet- I love it! :-)

If you have not already visited the challenge sites, I encourage you to do so- fantastic Design Team samples as well as their galleries!

To create this card:

Using the large branch stamp from Ornamental Pine, ink the image using Always Artichoke Classic Ink.  Wipe the branch portion off with a baby wipe and color the branch with the Early Espresso Stampin’ Write marker and stamp the image onto Whisper White cardstock.

Re-ink the needle area and stamp at the lower corner of the panel.

Add a few highlights with the White Gel Pen, trim the stamped panel and mount onto Cherry Cobbler cardstock, trim again and mount onto Early Espresso cardstock.

Ink the pine cones using Early Espresso Classic Ink (or the Stampin’ Write marker) and stamp onto Whisper White cardstock.  If needed, darken some of the areas with the marker and carefully cut out my hand (“fussy-cut”) and add the pine cones to the focal image panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim to approx. 3 ¾” x 5 ¼” and mount onto a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock, trim and mount onto the Early Espresso card base.

Adhere the strips of Trim the Tree Designer Series Pack (DSP) onto Early Espresso cardstock and add to the card front per the sketch.
Mount the focal image panel onto the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Ink the sentiment using Early Espresso Classic Ink (or the Stampin’ Write Early Espresso marker as I did) and stamp onto Whisper White cardstock.

Punch the sentiment out using the Ticket Duo Punch and mount onto a ticket punched from Cherry Cobbler and another one from Early Espresso (cut the Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso tickets in half vertically and adhere behind the sentiment so you can see the layers).

Mount the sentiment onto the card front directly onto the panel and using a Stampin’ Dimensional® on the right hand side to attach to the card front.

Add the ½” Always Artichoke Triple Seam Ribbon bow with the Antique Brad along with a few Pearls to finish the card.

Have a great weekend, my friends!!

Peace On Earth- Two Challenges in One!

Hi Stampers!

I just love the Ornamental Pine stamp set in the Holiday Mini and decided to take some time to create a few cards and projects to show the versatility of this stamp set.

The first card I created uses a masked background for the Merry Monday #130 Silent Night Challenge as well as one of my Christmas cards for the CCC14 Splitcoaststampers 2014 Christmas Card Challenge.

I hope you will have the time to check out both challenge sites- great designs and inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Use the 1 3/8” Circle Punch to punch out a circle from a piece of scrap paper and place the actual circle onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock for the moon.

Create a torn mask for the horizon line (to mimic the snowbanks).   Keep the circle mask over the moon area and using a Sponge Dauber, apply Pool Party Classic Ink, followed by Coastal Cabana Classic Ink and lastly by Pacific Point Classic Ink.

Remove the mask for the moon and sponge a bit of the Coastal Cabana and Pacific Point Classic Inks onto the moon area.

Keep the mask in place for the snowbanks and stamp the tree line images from Lovely As A Tree using Pacific Point Classic Ink.

Remove all masks and place another for the snow banks in the center of the card and apply ink from the Sponge Daubers used on the sky area.

Ink the leaves on the Ornamental Pine branch stamp using Mossy Meadow Classic Ink and use a baby wipe to remove the ink from the branch area.   Use an Early Espresso Stampin’ Write marker to color the branch area and stamp onto the card front and repeat these steps to stamp the second branch.

Stamp the sentiment using Pacific Point Classic Ink and trim the panel.

Sponge additional Pacific Point Classic Ink around the edges and mount onto Coastal Cabana cardstock and again onto the Early Espresso card base.

Add the white highlights to the branches and snowflakes using the White Gel Pen.

Ink the pine cone image using Early Espresso Classic Ink (or the Stampin’ Write marker used for the branches) and stamp three pine cones onto Whisper White cardstock.  Carefully cut out each pine cone (“fussy-cut”) and mount onto the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Add the Rhinestones under the sentiment to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Ornamental Pine, Lovely As A Tree, Greetings of the Season (retired)
Ink: Coastal Cabana, Early Espresso, Mossy Meadow, Pacific Point, Pool Party; Stampin’ Write Marker- Early Espresso, White Gel Pen
Paper/Cardstock:  Whisper White, Coastal Cabana, Early Espresso

Accessories: Sponge Daubers, scrap paper for masking, Rhinestones

CAS Bloom with Hope- Two Challenges in One

Hi Again Stampers!

I hope all of you are having a great week so far!  I decided to take a break from the craft room organization project and create a card using the FabFri52 Color Challenge along with the #95 CAS Colours and Sketches Challenge.

Again, I hope you have the time to stop by both sites to check out the great inspiration from the Design Teams as well as the other entries!

To create this card:

Ink the Bloom with Hope stamp using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink and stamp onto Whisper White cardstock.  Create a mask from scrap paper or from repositionable note paper, mask the image and stamp again- repeat to stamp the line of flowers.

Use an AquaPainter™ with Blackberry Bliss Classic Ink for the blossoms and Tangelo Twist Classic Ink for the background.  Use a Stampin’ Write Basic Black marker to add lines to the stem images and a retired White Watercolor Pencil to add a few highlights to the petals.

Ink the retired En Francais background stamp with Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink and stamp off onto scrap paper. Position the floral image over the background stamp and use your fingers to apply portions of the stamp to the image.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Window Frames Collection Framelits™ to cut out the image as well as another frame from Basic Black cardstock.   Mount the focal image onto the Basic Black frame and trim the top portion off.  Add the scrap piece of Back to Black Designer Series Paper (DSP) along with a strip of Basic Black cardstock.

Place a piece of Whisper White cardstock over the En Francais background stamp (do not re-ink) and again, lightly press certain areas with your fingers to randomly stamp the background image onto the Whisper White cardstock.   Trim the panel and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock.

Add the strip of Basic Black cardstock to the top area,  add the scrap strip of Blackberry Bliss cardstock to the center and add the small strip of Basic Black to finish off the vertical element of the sketch (I flipped the sketch to a landscape orientation).

Use an AquaPainter™ along with a Sponge Dauber to apply Tangelo Twist Classic Ink over the edges of the Whisper White card base.

Add the layered background panel and mount the floral focal image.

Stamp the sentiment from the retired Express Yourself hostess set onto Whisper White cardstock and cut the banner points using the Hexagon Punch.  Mount onto Basic Black cardstock (creating the banner points as well with the Hexagon Punch) and mount onto the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Add Pearls to the sentiment layer to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Bloom with Hope (2014-2015 Hostess Set), Express Yourself (retired 2013-2014 Hostess Set), retired En Francais

Ink: Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink, Blackberry Bliss, Tangelo Twist

Paper:  Whisper White, Basic Black, Back to Black DSP

Accessories:  Big Shot™, Window Frames Collection Framelits™, AquaPainter™,  Sponge Dauber, Pearls
